Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 evenly shaped patties, making them slightly thinner in the center for even cooking.
Cooking
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C).
- Place the burger patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. If adding cheese, place a slice on each burger during the last minute of cooking.
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe eating.
Serving
- Remove the burgers from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before assembling.
- Place each burger on a bun and top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of condiments.
Notes
Don’t overmix the ground beef to avoid tough burgers. Allowing the burgers to rest after cooking helps keep them juicy. Experiment with spices for added flavor. Use a meat thermometer for proper cooking temperature.
