Ingredients
  

Pasta and Meat Sauce
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Cheese Topping
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil For sautéing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; add onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; bring to a simmer.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce.
Layering and Baking
  1. Spread half of the spaghetti mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  3. Layer the remaining spaghetti mixture, then add the rest of the cheeses on top.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with a side salad and garlic bread. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for 3 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
