  • 2 lbs beef tips Use tender cuts of beef.
  • 1 cup beef broth Low sodium recommended.
  • 1 medium onion, sliced Yellow or white onion works well.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is preferred.
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Cremini or button mushrooms.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds richness to the gravy.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust based on preference.
  • 1 cup gravy mix or homemade gravy Follow package instructions if using mix.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place beef tips in the slow cooker.
  2. Add sliced onion, minced garlic, sliced mushrooms, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir to combine all ingredients.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the beef is tender.
  2. If using a gravy mix, prepare according to package instructions in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Serving
  1. Serve the beef tips and gravy hot over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes or fluffy rice.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the beef tips before slow cooking. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables like carrots or peas. For a thicker gravy, let the dish simmer longer after adding the gravy mix.
