Ingredients
  

For the Sloppy Joes
  • 1 lb ground chicken Use lean ground chicken for a healthier option.
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 brioche buns Toast under the broiler until golden.
For the Cheese Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with Monterey Jack or pepper jack.
  • 1/2 cup milk For consistency.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Melt in a saucepan.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground chicken over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Cheese Sauce
  1. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over low heat; whisk in the milk and gradually stir in the cheddar until melted and smooth to create a cheese sauce.
Assembly
  1. Toast the brioche buns under the broiler until golden.
  2. Assemble the Sloppy Joes by spooning the chicken mixture onto the buns and drizzling with cheese sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve hot with chips or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat chicken mixture before serving.
