For the meatloaf
  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef is recommended.
  • 4 slices crispy bacon, chopped Bacon adds flavor and texture.
  • 1 medium onion, sautéed Cook until soft to enhance flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For a cheesier flavor, add more cheese.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Used on top for glaze.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Helps bind the meatloaf.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped bacon, sautéed onions, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread ketchup on top of the meatloaf for glaze.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or a fresh garden salad. Can be used in sandwiches for lunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Consider adding spices like garlic powder or paprika for more flavor.
