Preparation
- Cook the pasta al dente according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with your choice of seasoning.
- Remove excess grease from the browned beef, then stir in the tomato sauce and cream cheese. Let it simmer for a few minutes to combine well.
- Gently toss the cooked tortellini with the sauce mixture, then pour it into the prepared casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the top evenly with shredded mozzarella and parmesan.
- Bake uncovered in the center of the oven for about 20 minutes. Switch to broil for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Serving
- Serve hot right out of the oven with a side of green salad, steamed vegetables, or garlic bread.
Notes
For extra flavor, add onions or bell peppers when browning the beef. Mix in spinach or other vegetables for added nutrition. You can also substitute ground beef with sausage or use a meat-free sauce for a vegetarian option. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
