Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk for marinating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for dredging
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
For Serving
  • Gravy optional
  • Mashed potatoes for serving
  • Green beans for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  3. Fry chicken in hot oil for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Serve hot with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying for a crispy texture. Let the chicken rest after frying to maintain juiciness. Consider different seasoning blends for variety.
