Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine frozen hash browns, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and caramelized onions. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
Baking
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle crispy fried onions on top.
- Return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
Serving
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
For extra flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder. You can also use different types of cheese for a variation.
