  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crunch.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning More can be added for extra flavor.
  • 1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce Can substitute with other tomato-based sauces.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to use provolone or cheddar for variation.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for baking

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in olive oil, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Arrange the breaded chicken in a baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Remove from the oven and pour marinara sauce over the chicken.
  3. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, topped with fresh basil or parsley. Pairs well with garlic bread or a salad.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the dish cool to room temperature, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. For extra crunch, consider using panko breadcrumbs. Don't overcrowd the baking dish for even cooking.
