Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 3-4 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Use your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin.
  3. Place the pork in the Crock Pot on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar over the pork.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
  2. Once cooked, remove the pork, shred it with two forks, and mix it with the sauce in the Crock Pot.
Serving
  1. Serve on buns or with sides of your choice.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight with the spices and BBQ sauce before cooking. Adjust spices to taste for desired heat. Don’t rush the cooking time; longer cooking makes the pork more tender.
