  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 pieces French rolls or hoagie bread
  • 6 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. In a bowl, mix the beef broth, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then pour over the roast.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the beef is tender.
  2. Shred the beef with two forks, mixing it with the juices.
Serving
  1. Serve on French rolls, topped with cheese and au jus for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sautéing the onions and garlic before adding them to the crockpot. Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences. For a little spice, add some sliced jalapeños or banana peppers to the sandwiches. Serve with potato chips or a simple side salad for a complete meal.
