Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef is recommended.
  • 1 small onion, chopped Onion adds flavor and sweetness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces) No salt added variety can be used.
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 ounces)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 ounces) You can use cream of chicken as a variation.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Adds a savory depth.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning A blend of herbs for added flavor.
  • to taste none Salt and pepper Adjust based on personal preference.
Biscuit Topping
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (16.3 ounces) Can use homemade biscuits for a fresher taste.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Substitute with mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the beef mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Cut each biscuit in half and place them on top of the beef mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy! This dish pairs well with a side salad or steamed vegetables.

Notes

For added flavor, sauté different vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms with the beef mixture. You can prepare the beef mixture ahead of time and assemble it just before baking.
