Ingredients
  

Pasta and Meat
  • 8 ounces short pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni) Any short pasta can be used.
  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 6 slices bacon Cooked and crispy.
Cheesy Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese More cheese can be added for a richer flavor.
  • 4 ounces cream cheese Helps make the sauce creamy.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the short pasta and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Cooking the Meat
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Use a wooden spoon to break it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir well to mix the spices with the meat.
Making it Creamy
  1. Lower the heat and add the cream cheese. Stir until it melts and combines with the meat.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked pasta to the skillet. Stir everything together until the pasta is coated in the cheesy mixture.
Finishing Touch
  1. Chop the crispy bacon and mix it into the pasta. Save some for topping if you like.

Notes

Serve warm, topped with extra bacon and a sprinkle of cheese. Add freshly chopped parsley or green onions for a touch of color and flavor. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
