Ingredients

For the Bowl
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or ground turkey or plant-based crumbles) Choose your preferred protein.
  • 4 medium Red Potatoes (or riced cauliflower for low-carb) Use riced cauliflower for a lower-carb option.
  • 1 medium Onion (diced, caramelized) Caramelize for sweetness.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Colby Jack or pepper jack) Use your favorite cheese.
  • 2 cups Lettuce (any mix of leafy greens) Use a mix for better flavor.
  • 1 cup Pickles (or cucumbers) For added crunch.
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayo (or Greek yogurt) Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup (low-sugar) Use low-sugar for a healthier option.
  • 1 tbsp Mustard (Dijon for a twist) Dijon adds flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (adjust to taste) Adjust spiciness according to preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cooking the potatoes. Boil or roast until tender. If using riced cauliflower, sauté it in a pan with a little oil until cooked.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the chosen ground meat and cook until browned and fully cooked through.
  3. While the meat is cooking, caramelize the diced onion in a separate pan with a little oil on low heat until golden brown and sweet.
Assembly
  1. Assemble your bowl with a base of lettuce.
  2. Layer the cooked potatoes or riced cauliflower on top.
  3. Add the cooked ground meat, followed by the caramelized onions and shredded cheese.
  4. Mix together the mayo, ketchup, mustard, and Cajun seasoning in a small bowl and drizzle over the top.
  5. Finish by adding pickles or cucumbers for extra crunch.

Notes

Serve immediately while warm. Provide extra toppings like sliced avocados, hot sauce, or chopped herbs for customization. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Keep components separate to maintain freshness.
