  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
Thickening (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional for thickening
  • 2 tablespoons water optional for thickening
Garnishes
  • sliced green onions for garnish
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  2. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  3. Once done, shred the chicken in the sauce and serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for a few hours before cooking. You can add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli to the slow cooker for a complete meal. If you like a spicy kick, consider adding red pepper flakes.
