  • 1 lb ground beef Use your preferred lean meat.
  • 4 large flour tortillas Can substitute with corn tortillas.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to mix with other cheese varieties.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Can be substituted with other melting cheese.
  • 1/2 cup diced onions Yellow or white onions work well.
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes Fresh diced tomatoes add brightness.
  • 1/4 cup pickles Optional ingredient.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust according to preference.
  • Cooking oil for frying Use any neutral oil.

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Place a tortilla in another skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella on one half of the tortilla.
  3. Add a layer of cooked ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and pickles if using. Top with the remaining cheese and fold the tortilla over.
Cooking
  1. Cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  2. Remove from heat, cut into wedges, and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Serve warm and cut into wedges. Great with dipping sauces like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. For extra flavor, add spices like garlic powder or chili powder to the ground beef while cooking. Make sure not to overfill the quesadillas to prevent tearing. Use a non-stick skillet to avoid sticking.
