Ingredients
  

Beef Mixture
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar or your choice) Use freshly grated for better melting.
Bread
  • 4 slices bread Whole grain or gluten-free bread can be used.
  • to taste Butter For toasting.

Method
 

Cooking the Beef Mixture
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are soft. Drain excess fat.
  2. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Place cheese on top of the beef mixture and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
Preparing the Sandwich
  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread and place them butter-side down in a separate skillet or on a griddle.
  2. Load the beef and cheese mixture onto one slice of bread and top with another slice, butter-side up.
  3. Toast until golden brown and flip to toast the other side.
  4. Remove from heat, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave. Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef for even browning.
