  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Divided into portions for cooking.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds the best flavor.

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
For the potatoes
  • 1 pound baby potatoes, quartered These will become crispy and tender.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking the potatoes.
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as rosemary or thyme) Use fresh herbs for more flavor if possible.

Method

Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the steak bites to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 4-6 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cooking the Potatoes
  1. In the same skillet, add the olive oil and baby potatoes. Season with herbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook the potatoes until crispy and tender, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Finishing the Dish
  1. Return the steak bites to the skillet, add the remaining butter, and toss everything together to coat.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your meal!

Notes

Make sure to cut the steak into even bite-sized pieces for uniform cooking. Adjust the seasoning to your taste; you can add more garlic or herbs as desired. If you like your steak well done, cook it a bit longer in the skillet. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
