Ingredients
  

Bao Buns and Filling
  • 4 pieces Bao buns Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 pound Crispy Korean fried chicken Marinated and fried chicken pieces
  • 3 tablespoons Gochujang sauce Spicy Korean chili paste
Toppings
  • 1 cup Cucumber slices Fresh, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Carrot julienne Thinly shredded carrots
  • ΒΌ cup Green onions Chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds Toasted for flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate chicken pieces in a mixture of soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Coat them in flour and fry until golden and crispy.
  3. Steam the bao buns according to package instructions.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the bao buns by placing a piece of crispy chicken inside each bun.
  2. Top with gochujang sauce, cucumber slices, carrot julienne, green onions, and sesame seeds.
Serving
  1. Serve the Korean Chicken Bao Buns warm, right after assembling.

Notes

For extra flavor, add spices to the flour mix for the chicken. Ensure to steam the bao buns just until warm, and prepare the toppings in advance to make assembly quicker. Leftover bao buns can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
