- In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
- Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the honey garlic sauce over the top.
- Cook on low for 4-5 hours or until chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it if desired, then return to the sauce.
Serving
- Serve hot over a bed of cooked white or brown rice.
- Add steamed vegetables if desired, and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for an hour or overnight before cooking. Adjust honey and soy sauce according to taste. Adding sliced bell peppers or snap peas during the last hour of cooking can enhance the dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 2 months.
