  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) For serving

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain it well.
  6. Mix the spaghetti with the sauce in the pan. Stir to combine.
  7. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top if you like.

Notes

If you have leftovers, place them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge for 3-4 days. Sauce can be frozen separately for up to 3 months. Consider adding chopped carrots or bell peppers for extra veggies, and let the sauce simmer longer to enhance the flavors.
